CP Ajao Adewale Assumes Duty as Bayelsa’s 39th Police Commissioner

CP Ajao Saka Adewale has assumed duty as the 39th Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State. He succeeds Iyamah Daniel Edebor, who has been promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police. Adewale assumed office on 12 August 2026. Before his posting to Bayelsa, he served as Commissioner of Police, Administration at the Force CID Annex in Gombe and previously led the FCT Police Command. The Bayelsa Police Command has appealed to residents to support efforts to maintain peace, law and order across the state.
