ICPC Secures Arrest Warrant for Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji Over Alleged Forged Credentials

ICPC Secures Arrest Warrant for Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji Over Alleged Forged Credentials

The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission has obtained a federal high court warrant for the arrest of Uche Nnaji. The court granted the order in an ex parte motion filed in Abuja. Nnaji served as minister of innovation, science and technology from August 2023 until his resignation. The ICPC filed its motion after Nnaji failed to honour multiple invitations in its probe of alleged forgery of academic and NYSC certificates. The commission also asked permission to declare him wanted in newspapers and on social media, and to empower law enforcement or private citizens to arrest and hand him over. The bench warrant will remain active until Nnaji is taken into custody. He recently emerged as the PDP governorship candidate in Enugu State for the 2027 elections.

It's striking how quickly the ICPC moved to secure that warrant without a public hearing or detailed explanation.

I agree, that swift action without clarity does raise concerns about transparency and due process.

Are we jumping to conclusions about guilt before all evidence is presented in court?

It might help to follow updates directly from the federal high court to see any motion details as they emerge.
