Imo Transfers Okigwe General Hospital to FG, Paves Way for Federal Medical Centre
The Imo State Government has officially handed over Okigwe General Hospital to the Federal Ministry of Health. This move clears the path for the establishment of the new Federal Medical Centre in Okigwe. Governor Hope Uzodimma received the federal delegation at the Government House in Owerri. He noted that the state completed key infrastructure upgrades to ensure the facility’s seamless takeover and immediate operation. Officials from the Federal Ministry of Health praised the readiness of the hospital. They said the transition will bring advanced medical services closer to residents of Okigwe and nearby communities under federal management.
