French TV Presenter Suspended for Slamming Jeremy Doku’s Decision to Attend Childbirth

French TV Presenter Suspended for Slamming Jeremy Doku’s Decision to Attend Childbirth

France Pierron has been suspended by L'Equipe after calling Belgium forward Jeremy Doku “completely useless” for planning to miss the World Cup quarter-final to be present at his first child’s birth. Doku, 24, revealed his child is due in mid-July while Belgium’s tournament run could still be under way. Despite a recent chest infection that ruled him out of Belgium’s match against Iran, the Manchester City star insists he will return home for the birth. Plans are reportedly in place for him to travel by private jet if needed. Pierron later apologised on social media, saying her remarks were a personal opinion and not meant to diminish the role of fathers. L'Equipe’s editorial team has confirmed she will not appear on air until further notice.
