Injustice in Nigeria: Lenient Boko Haram Sentences vs. Nnamdi Kanu’s Imprisonment
I feel Nigeria is collapsing under double standards. While Nnamdi Kanu serves a life term for speaking truth, jihadist killers enjoy light sentences and rehabilitation. As reported by Sahara Reporters, Justice Nyako handed 10–20 year terms to Boko Haram collaborators – including Hamatu Modu, Isa Ali, Auwal Bello and Shehu Bukar – alongside de-radicalisation orders. How long will we accept this two-tier justice system? If Nigerians don’t rise up to demand real change or restructure the nation, these injustices will keep recurring.
