Christ in You: Finding Hope and Joy Amid Trials
The first time I visited Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in 1975, I saw a young man playing the piano and dancing joyfully. Though serving a life sentence with no hope of release, he was radiant because he had met Jesus behind bars. If you face a difficult situation, remember that Christ living in you gives a reason to rejoice. Colossians 1:27 calls Him “the hope of glory.” Even when the enemy knocks you down, declarations like “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow” keep hope alive. Proverbs 24:16 reminds us that the righteous may fall seven times but will rise again. When the world thought it had won by crucifying Jesus, it unwittingly sealed its own defeat (1 Corinthians 2:8). In Acts 16:19–34, Paul and Silas praised God in prison, leading the jailer and his household to salvation. Whatever challenges you face, trust that Christ in you will bring His glory to light.
