Delta Drug Suspects Allegedly Ask Police Spokesperson for Photo After Arrest

Delta State Police Command says two men were arrested during a stop-and-search operation on the Agbarho-Warri Road while travelling in a Mercedes-Benz ML SUV. Police identified the suspects as Omini Ezeri, 46, and Chinedum Wagbara, 42. Officers reportedly recovered two Beretta pistols, a substance suspected to be cocaine, and a dagger from the vehicle and its occupants. During an interview after their arrest, the suspects allegedly asked police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe to take a photograph with them. They remain in custody as the investigation continues.

An arrest announcement is not the same as a conviction, so the allegations should still be tested properly.

Police should document the recovered items clearly and allow the legal process to establish what actually happened.
