IAUE Seeks Rivers Government Support for Perimeter Fence, Classrooms After Security Breach
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Okechukwu Onuchukwu, has appealed to the Rivers State Government to build a permanent perimeter fence around the institution following a recent security breach. During a visit by the state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Onuchukwu said the breach had been brought under control and no lives were lost. He said the university needs stronger security measures to protect students and staff. The Acting VC also requested more classrooms and a staff complex to address infrastructure gaps. He noted that the university has installed solar-powered lights in its hostels to improve safety in residential areas.
