Why Tinubu’s Washington Crisis Looms Larger Than Any London Photo-Op

Let us face facts. I believe Tinubu faces a growing crisis in Washington. U.S. courts have demanded his records. A federal judge rebuked key agencies and set strict deadlines. Nigeria was labeled a Country of Particular Concern over religious-freedom abuses. Abuja had to form a joint working group with Washington just to manage the fallout. That hardly looks like a strong partnership. The government spent $9 million on U.S. lobbyists and sent the First Lady on a charm offensive. Yet insecurity has invited drones and U.S. troops onto our soil. The core problem remains unsolved. No London photo-op or European tour can wash away this stain. Tinubu’s real danger comes not from Abuja noise but from stalled records, present insecurity, and deep foreign distrust.

How do you think Tinubu's U.S. court deadlines will reshape Nigeria's diplomatic standing in Washington?

Chai, you got that right! Those court deadlines will surely make some serious waves.

I see where you're coming from, but court deadlines alone probably won't redefine Nigeria's diplomatic ties in Washington.

This situation seems less about photo opportunities and more about legal scrutiny over Tinubu's records and U.S. religious freedom labels.

I'm not convinced this Washington issue outweighs domestic challenges, especially when local governance and security remain pressing.

Perhaps Abuja could prioritize transparent communication and timely document submission to mitigate U.S. court pressures and diplomatic fallout.
