I live abroad and need practical advice on recovering money from four people in Nigeria who have become unresponsive. A former business partner still owes me ₦1.2 million from a car-wash investment. He said equipment was stolen during the EndSARS protests, refunded ₦1.8 million, then reportedly sold the business and stopped responding. A Nollywood actor also owes me ₦1 million paid as an advance for a film project that did not go ahead. The actor has ignored my refund requests for years. I also paid a lawyer ₦100,000 to help recover the car-wash debt, but the lawyer disappeared without providing any service. Another person in Benin still owes me ₦150,000 after making only a partial refund for an undelivered service. What is the most realistic way to pursue these cases from abroad?
