Naira Strengthens for Third Consecutive Day, CBN Reports
According to the Central Bank of Nigeria, the naira closed at ₦1,357.26 per dollar on Wednesday, up from ₦1,361.05 recorded on Tuesday. This single-day gain of ₦3.79 brings the three-day total appreciation to ₦9.50. At the parallel (black) market, the exchange rate remained unchanged at ₦1,395 per dollar. The naira’s uptick coincides with a rise in Nigeria’s foreign reserves, which climbed to $49.88 billion as of June 2, 2026, from $49.80 billion a day earlier. These figures extend the currency’s positive run following gains on Monday and Tuesday.
