Nigerian Couple Arrested in Navi Mumbai with Cocaine and Mephedrone Valued at ₦43 Million
Navi Mumbai’s anti-narcotics unit arrested a Nigerian couple near Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital on Thane-Belapur road for allegedly selling hard drugs. The duo, identified as 35-year-old Tony Ogbenna Adah and 30-year-old Namakula Grace, were found with 25.4 g of cocaine and 56.02 g of mephedrone. The street value was estimated at around Rs 29.6 lakh (about ₦43 million). Authorities noted both passports and visas had expired. Adah was previously arrested for mephedrone possession two years ago and remained on bail with a pending case in India. An FIR under the NDPS Act has been filed at Turbhe police station. Investigators say Palava City township has become a hub for drug peddlers. Last month’s coordinated raids in Palava City and Khoni Village led to the arrest of 24 African nationals after the capture of international kingpin Paul Chigbata Onuoch.
