Osimhen Labels Forearm Fracture a ‘Minor Case’ After Tougher Injuries
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has downplayed his recent forearm fracture as a minor setback. The 27-year-old suffered the break during Galatasaray’s Champions League tie at Anfield after a collision with Ibrahima Konaté. He was substituted at half-time and sent home for further evaluation. Medical scans confirmed a broken forearm that may need surgery. Osimhen returned to Nigeria ahead of an operation in Turkey, which could keep him sidelined for up to six weeks. Upon his return, he will wear a protective cast on his arm. Despite the blow, Osimhen remains optimistic. He recalled the severe facial injury he sustained in 2021 against Inter Milan, which required metal plates and a protective mask. “I’m not new to this,” he said. “Compared to that, this is minor.” His absence arrives as Galatasaray chase the Turkish title, forcing the team to adapt without their talisman.
