Enugu’s Vision 2030: From $4.4bn to $30bn, Zero Poverty & Top Tourism Hub – Gov. Mbah
In a dialogue with journalists, Governor Peter Mbah unpacked his three-pillar blueprint for Enugu State. He aims to grow the economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion in eight years, eradicate a 58 percent poverty rate, and position Enugu as the top destination for business, tourism, and quality living. Mbah explained that government will enable growth but relies on private-sector investment. He highlighted major projects in healthcare, aviation, security, education, and agriculture. These initiatives include a world-class international hospital, plans for 100 daily flights at Akanu-Ibiam Airport, smart schools with experiential learning, and 260 mechanized farm estates. Security measures and technology investments underpin all efforts. The governor also credited federal reforms for freeing up resources. With direct flights, advanced medical services, and agro-processing zones, Enugu is setting the stage to attract three million visitors and sustain long-term development.
