Enyimba Coach Deutsch Insists Survival Despite Setback Against Kano Pillars
Enyimba head coach Emmanuel Deutsch has vowed that the People’s Elephant will avoid relegation in the ongoing NPFL season. He spoke after his side fell 2-0 to Kano Pillars in Matchday 31. Kano’s Chiedozie Okorie broke the deadlock 11 minutes in. Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa doubled the lead just before half-time. The win moved Kano Pillars to 13th on 39 points, while Enyimba slipped to 16th with 36 points. Despite the loss, Deutsch remained optimistic. “It was a tough game against a spirited opponent,” he said. “We will stay up. I believe Enyimba will survive by season’s end.” Next up for the nine-time Nigerian champions is the ‘Oriental Derby’ at home to Abia Warriors in Matchday 32. Deutsch says the team will prepare well for that crucial fixture.
