IGP Disu Visits Akwa Ibom to Pass Out 1,068 Retrained Constables
On 30 April 2026, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu met with Governor Umo Eno to strengthen collaboration on policing reforms focused on professionalism, accountability, and intelligence-led operations. At the Police Mobile Force Base in Uyo, the IGP presided over the passing-out ceremony for 1,068 retrained constables. He highlighted the need for discipline, proper weapons handling, and strict adherence to Force Order 237. Reaffirming a zero-tolerance stance on firearm misuse and extra-judicial conduct, he warned that any officer found culpable would face immediate dismissal and prosecution. The IGP commended the State Command for the successful training initiative and pointed to recent rescue operations along the Calabar–Oron waterways as evidence of effective intelligence-driven policing.
