At the 107th PDP National Executive Committee meeting, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike took aim at Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. He dismissed Makinde’s claims about a meeting with the President as “unfortunate” and warned, “A fight you can’t fight, don’t start it.” Wike insisted that politics is not contract work. “You wanted money; I wanted power. Wike warned that anyone who fails to demonstrate loyalty risks being sidelined and called for sincere reconciliation among leaders.

Perhaps Wike's warning is more about silencing internal dissent than genuinely preventing destructive conflicts within the PDP.

To avoid such spats in future, party leaders should establish clear meeting protocols and communication channels between governors and the presidency.
