Wike to Makinde: Don’t Start a Fight You Can’t Win
At the 107th PDP National Executive Committee meeting, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike took aim at Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. He dismissed Makinde’s claims about a meeting with the President as “unfortunate” and warned, “A fight you can’t fight, don’t start it.” Wike insisted that politics is not contract work. “You wanted money; I wanted power. Stay where you are as a contractor,” he said, adding that he entered politics to pursue power, not profit. He urged party members to stay united and strategic ahead of the March national convention. Wike warned that anyone who fails to demonstrate loyalty risks being sidelined and called for sincere reconciliation among leaders.
