Mandi Blames Messi’s Magic as Algeria Fall 3-0 to Argentina

Algeria captain Aissa Mandi expressed disappointment after his side’s 3-0 loss to defending champions Argentina at Kansas City Stadium. Lionel Messi marked his 200th international appearance in style, netting a hat-trick to equal the all-time World Cup scoring record. He opened the scoring with a superb curling finish, capitalised on a rebound for his second, and completed his treble with another trademark strike. Mandi admitted Messi’s class made the difference: “They have a player who is ruthless… we tried to shut him down but he was too good for us.”
