Afenifere Hails Governors, IGP and CPs for Success Against Banditry on Ogbere-Sagamu-Ore Corridor

Afenifere has applauded Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for their swift actions against kidnapping and banditry in their states. The pan-Yoruba group praised Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu and the Commissioners of Police in Ogun and Lagos for coordinated operations along the Ogbere-Sagamu-Ore highway. Afenifere highlighted strategic leadership and intelligence-driven policing as key to restoring public confidence. The organisation noted strong political will from both governors and the effective use of specialised resources. A joint security operation recently freed five kidnapped victims within 24 hours and neutralised several suspects. “Afenifere is committed to a safe South-West. There is no place for crime in Yorubaland,” the group declared.

How do you think Afenifere's praise will pressure other states to step up security on major highways?

Do you expect other states to increase police patrols or surveillance on highways now?

It's interesting that Afenifere highlights only Ogun and Lagos. What about banditry issues in other southwestern corridors?

Applause is fine, but praising politicians feels premature before we see sustained drop in kidnapping incidents on that route.

Communities along the Ogbere-Sagamu-Ore corridor should set up local vigilance groups and coordinate with police for quicker response.
