Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone insists his side were the better team after the break in their Champions League semi-final first leg against Arsenal. Despite a 1-1 draw, he believes Atletico deserved more for their second-half performance. Simeone said the first half was balanced but his team grew into the game after the interval. He praised the defence’s organisation and highlighted chances created by Antoine Griezmann and Ademola Lookman. The focus fell on Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman, who missed two of Atletico’s three clearest openings. Simeone now hopes those missed opportunities won’t cost them in the second leg at the Emirates.
