Abuja Engineer Petitions Police Over Alleged N300M Land Scam

Abuja Engineer Petitions Police Over Alleged N300M Land Scam — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Engr. Stephen Achema Akpa has petitioned the Nigeria Police Force over an alleged N300 million land scam. He accuses Alhaji Tukur and ACH Global Services Ltd of obtaining money under false pretence, fraud and threats to his life, family and business. In a letter to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 7, Abuja, Akpa says he first paid N100 million as a commitment fee on July 3, 2025. He later transferred an additional N300 million, believing the property was genuine. After the payments, he could no longer reach the accused. Months later, the accused resurfaced in September 2025. He promised to allocate the land or refund the money, but neither happened. Akpa claims the suspect then issued threats, causing him serious fear and stress. The petition calls for urgent police intervention. Akpa wants the accused brought to justice to prevent more Nigerians from falling victim. Bank transfer receipts were attached as evidence.

No lie, police must share every update publicly and involve impartial eyes so nothing shady go slip under the radar.

True, accountability is key, but I doubt the investigation will be clean without independent oversight.

It seems unusual that someone could gather such a large sum under false pretence without earlier red flags or warnings from local authorities.

Before we assume guilt, shouldn't we consider possible misunderstandings in the land transaction and wait for police findings to avoid hasty judgments?

One practical step is to secure all transaction records and consult a legal advisor experienced in property disputes before the police conclude their investigation.
