Nasarawa United Hammer Rivers United 4-1 as Abia Warriors Edge Niger Tornadoes

Rivers United’s title bid took a heavy hit at Lafia City Stadium as Nasarawa United ran out 4-1 victors. Ngei Oluka-Efor and Abubakar Abdullahi struck inside the first 15 minutes to put the Solid Miners in control. Chimezie Victor made it 3-0 before Taiwo Abdulrafiu pulled one back for Rivers United in the 24th minute. JoFrank Istifanus wrapped up the scoring just before the hour mark. The win lifted Nasarawa United to third place on 50 points from 31 matches, while Rivers United remain second with 52 points. In Umuahia, Abia Warriors secured a 2-1 home victory over Niger Tornadoes. Suraju Lawal opened the scoring in the 7th minute, Casmir Azubuike added a second in the 65th, and Joseph Godfrey reduced the deficit late on.
