Ex-Teacher Faces 20 Child Exploitation Counts After Using AI to Generate Explicit Images, Bond Set at $27M
A former teacher appeared in a Greensboro courtroom after prosecutors filed ten additional felony counts against him, bringing his total to 20. Authorities say he used AI and Photoshop to place student faces onto nude images and stored the material on Google Drive and an iPad recovered from his classroom. Detectives uncovered 111 images in all, including 70 new doctored pictures depicting subjects from current students to adults who were minors at the time. He faces up to 88 months’ imprisonment for each count and has been assigned a combined bond of $27.75 million. The case began when the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office received a tip and executed a search warrant at Vandalia Christian School. A detective testified that many of the images were classroom photos manipulated into explicit content. In court, a father of one victim urged the judge to deny bond, warning of the risk posed by the defendant. The teacher was fired following his initial arrest.
