Rev. Dachomo Alleges Government Complicity in Elevating Ex-Boko Haram into Security Forces
Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo says the Nigerian government and powerful elites are complicit in the nation’s insecurity. He claims they sponsor criminality and have absorbed “repentant” Boko Haram fighters into the army, air force, and police. Dachomo alleges these former fighters act as informants for insurgents. He criticises the lack of transparency in the deradicalisation programme and warns that camps are emptied before military operations. The cleric also voiced strong support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s intervention. He argues Nigerian authorities cannot handle the crisis and accuses them of denying a religiously motivated genocide. The military insists its vetting processes are strict and denies recruiting ex-insurgents. Critics continue to call for accountability and reform in Nigeria’s security sector.
