Praying with Power: Expect Clear Answers from God

Praying with Power: Expect Clear Answers from God

I believe we all can pray and hear a clear answer from God without trading it for fleeting worldly things. In my experience, God still speaks and answers prayers just as He did in the days of Elijah and the Apostles. The issue isn’t that God is silent; it’s that we aren’t listening. Often He begins by pointing out our sins, which scares us because we love our faults. He doesn’t demand religious works first—only that we turn away from evil with a sincere heart. When we pursue holiness, we can approach God with confidence, knowing He hears us. His answers might not match our expectations, but He always knows what’s best. As the New Testament teaches (Matt. 7:7; John 16:24), when we ask in faith, we shall receive.

How do you distinguish a clear answer from God versus personal intuition or wishful thinking when you pray?

Absolutely! When God's answer rings clear, you just know it in your bones, not your daydreams.

It's interesting that the post compares modern prayer answers with Elijah's experiences, even though cultural and historical contexts differ significantly.

I'd argue that listening more often means quieting our minds, not just expecting God to speak in dramatic ways.

A simple approach is to journal each prayer and note any thoughts or impressions over days. That can reveal patterns of guidance.
