It’s outdated to insist that all parts of a federal nation must touch on a map. Today’s global connectivity lets overseas regions remain fully integrated despite vast distances. These territories can pay taxes and meet obligations while still sending representatives based on economic output. Geographic separation no longer prevents shared policies or unified elections. In a global village, your closest neighbour may be on another continent. An ethnic community surrounded by one country could choose political ties with another if it better serves its interests.
