Wrench-Wielding Intruder Breaches England’s World Cup Media Centre in Kansas City

Police were called when a man armed with a wrench forced his way into England’s World Cup media centre near their Swope Soccer Village training base in Kansas City. He shouted as he entered the restricted zone, alarming journalists and staff. Security personnel quickly disarmed and escorted him out before Kansas City police detained him. Witnesses say he appeared distressed and tried to leave after hearing sirens. Media centre staff, Football Association representatives and reporters were present during the breach. England will return to action on Saturday when they face Norway in their World Cup quarter-final in Miami.
