NUT Warns FG: Most Nigerian Schools Unready for 2027 CBT Exams

NUT Warns FG: Most Nigerian Schools Unready for 2027 CBT Exams

The Nigeria Union of Teachers says the Federal Government’s plan to move all public exams online by 2027 is premature. Many schools, especially in rural areas, lack computers, trained staff, reliable power, internet or mobile networks. NUT President Audu Amba warns that students who have never used a computer or tablet will be left behind. He notes that true digital education requires smart classrooms, online platforms, digital libraries and well-trained teachers. To avoid widening the gap between urban and rural learners, the union calls on government and private sector partners to invest in infrastructure, provide internet access countrywide, and equip and train teachers before rolling out full CBT exams.
