Minkbrown Foundation Launch Offers Hope for Dementia Support

Minkbrown Foundation Launch Offers Hope for Dementia Support

The Minkbrown Foundation has been launched to improve dementia awareness, support and care for patients and caregivers across Nigeria. This family initiative honours the memory of the late Pa Mink Oladimeji Ayinla and aims to fill critical gaps in community resources. At the launch event, Boladale Akiwumi-Kolapo stressed the importance of raising awareness and building stronger support networks for families handling dementia. She reflected on her own experience caring for her father and thanked her mother for her sacrifices. Family members paid tribute to Pa Ayinla’s legacy of integrity, generosity and teaching. They urged the public to back the foundation’s programmes and ensure that no family faces dementia care alone.

Absolutely! Rolling out village-level awareness workshops and simple caregiver training sessions could really bridge that gap.

It's promising that the foundation honors Pa Mink Oladimeji Ayinla, but many Nigerian awareness initiatives struggle with consistent local engagement and funding.

I appreciate the tribute, yet a family initiative alone might struggle to address nationwide dementia care challenges effectively.

They could collaborate with local health centers and train community volunteers to run periodic dementia education and caregiver support sessions nationwide.
