Enzo Fernández has voiced his disappointment over Chelsea’s decision to sack manager Enzo Maresca. Maresca arrived in June 2024 and immediately imposed a disciplined tactical system. Under his guidance, Chelsea lifted the UEFA Conference League trophy and beat PSG 3-0 to win the FIFA Club World Cup. Speaking to Mexican media outlet TUDN, Fernández said he and his teammates still don’t understand why the board made the change. He praised Maresca’s clear identity in training and match play. The Argentine midfielder added that losing Maresca in mid-season was painful and disrupted the momentum the team had built.
