Chelsea and Arsenal Battle to Sign Bournemouth’s Teen Star Kroupi
Chelsea are monitoring 19-year-old Eli Junior Kroupi this summer, even as Bournemouth insist their teenage sensation is not for sale. Arsenal have also tracked the French forward after his last-minute goal against Manchester City sealed the Gunners’ first Premier League title in over two decades. Kroupi set a new record with 13 league goals, overtaking Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane as the top-scoring teenager in a debut season. Bournemouth have deployed him as a No.10, No.9 and left winger under Andoni Iraola. Before his move to England, Kroupi scored 23 goals in 32 games for Lorient to help them gain promotion to Ligue 1. Despite Chelsea’s focus on ready-made signings under Xabi Alonso, they are unlikely to ignore emerging talent. Bournemouth, now in Europe for next season, maintain Kroupi is off limits.
