Six Oyo Federal Reps Quit PDP for Makinde’s APM Ahead of 2027 Election
Six members of the House of Representatives from Oyo State have officially left the Peoples Democratic Party to join the Allied Peoples Movement. The Speaker read letters at the first plenary after the Sallah break, confirming the defectors and their constituencies, including Ibarapa North, Ibadan North-West/South-West, Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere, Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa, Ibadan North, and Ibadan North-East/South-East. In the same session, Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda resigned his leadership role after defecting from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress. Chinda has since won the APC governorship ticket for Rivers State ahead of the 2027 polls.
