Courtois Backs Van Bommel as Belgium’s New Head Coach
Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has welcomed Mark van Bommel’s appointment as the Red Devils’ new head coach, calling the former Netherlands captain a top coach. Courtois said Van Bommel’s successful spell at Antwerp and experience as a player for Barcelona, Bayern Munich and AC Milan should help him earn the respect of Belgium’s squad. The Real Madrid goalkeeper added that he will hold talks with Van Bommel before deciding whether to continue his international career after the 2026 World Cup.
