Anthony Joshua Channels Grief Over Friends’ Tragic Death in Nigeria Into His Training
Boxing has become a sanctuary for Anthony Joshua as he mourns the loss of two close friends killed in a car crash in Nigeria last December. Promoter Eddie Hearn says the gym has helped Joshua focus his pain into purpose. Much of his training is now dedicated to the memory of his childhood friend Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele and therapist Sina Ghami. Training alongside Oleksandr Usyk in Egypt has boosted Joshua’s morale and fitness. Hearn reports Joshua is in the best shape of his career and even plans to continue boxing for another three years. Joshua is set to return to the ring on July 25 in Riyadh against Kristian Prenga, with a highly anticipated clash against Tyson Fury targeted for November.
