Sowore Mobilises Abuja Protest Over Alleged Jabi Park Land Grab

Former presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore led a large demonstration in Abuja against claims that Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, is reallocating public land to political allies. Hundreds of residents marched through the capital carrying placards reading “Save Jabi Lake Now” and “Stop Land Grabbing in Abuja.” They demanded that Jabi Lake and Park remain protected public spaces and called for transparency in the FCT land allocation process. The protesters accused both the FCT administration and President Tinubu’s government of enabling controversial land takeovers. The march was still underway when this report was filed.
