Ted Lasso Star Cristo Fernández Signs Professional Football Contract with El Paso Locomotive
Mexican actor Cristo Fernández, best known for playing Dani Rojas in the Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso, has joined USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive FC after impressing during a two-month trial. The 35-year-old began his football journey in Guadalajara but stepped away at 15 due to a knee injury. He later trialled with Chicago Fire’s second team and says returning to professional play has always been his dream. El Paso’s head coach Junior Gonzalez believes Fernández will add a new attacking threat to the squad. Fernández describes this move as a leap of faith born from his lifelong love of the game.
