Supreme Court Affirms David Mark-Led ADC Faction, Sends Dispute Back to Federal High Court
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has ruled in favour of the David Mark-led faction of the African Democratic Congress. It overturned a Court of Appeal order that froze all party leadership recognition. The substantive dispute over ADC’s internal structure is now remitted to the Federal High Court for continuation and final determination. Until then, rival factions remain part of the ongoing litigation. Institutions such as the Independent National Electoral Commission are expected to liaise with the legally recognised leadership for official party matters. This ruling restores functional authority to one faction but does not set a final conclusion on ownership.
