Kim Jong Un Cites US ‘State-Sponsored Terrorism’ to Defend His Nuclear Arsenal

North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un told parliament that recent US actions in the Middle East amount to “state-sponsored terrorism and aggression.” Though he did not mention Iran by name, he said the conflict proves his decision to keep nuclear weapons was justified. Speaking at the Supreme People’s Assembly, Kim accused Washington of using “pressure and sweet talk” to push Pyongyang to disarm. He warned that North Korea’s nuclear status is now irreversible. Kim’s speech reinforces a long-held belief in his regime: only nuclear-armed states can deter US military power. He noted that North Korea already possesses operational warheads and delivery systems capable of reaching the US mainland.
