Plateau State Doctors Issue 7-Day Strike Ultimatum Over Unpaid Salaries
Medical practitioners in Plateau State have given the government seven days to address unpaid salaries and welfare concerns or face an industrial action. The Association of Resident Doctors at the State Specialist Hospital and the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners warned that failure to implement the revised CONMESS salary structure and pay outstanding allowances by April 27, 2026, will force them to withdraw services. They said delays in adopting the new national salary scale and settling arrears have driven doctors away, further straining health services. As of now, the state government has not responded to the ultimatum.
