Nollywood veteran Nkem Owoh says his acting journey began by chance. He revealed on the Selah Meditate podcast that he was initially a scriptwriter behind the scenes. His colleagues noticed how he made them laugh and urged him to try performing. ATV even gave him a seven-minute stand-up slot in the 1980s, and under their pressure he took to the screen. When audiences loved it, his acting career took off. He also warned that fame has its downsides. Owoh explained that celebrity life restricts personal freedom, noting that many only see the benefits and overlook how much is lost once you become famous.
