Akume, Melaye and Musa Lead Abuja Security Dialogue at Unity Summit
Leading politicians and security experts gathered in Abuja for the National Security Summit and Awards 2026, organised by Unity Project Nigeria alongside the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Senator Dino Melaye challenged the federal government over rising insecurity, describing kidnapping as a "national industry" and urging urgent action. Secretary to the Government George Akume defended the administration’s efforts to bolster operations and protect lives and property. Former senator Shehu Sani called on young Nigerians to invest their talents at home, while organisers emphasised that lasting peace requires citizens, security agencies and civil society to work together. Awards were presented to those recognised for outstanding contributions to national unity and security.
