Zahara Jolie Skips ‘Pitt’ at Spelman Graduation, Echoing Family Name Shift

Zahara Jolie-Pitt received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta last weekend. When she accepted her diploma, the announcer called her Zahara Marley Jolie, again dropping her father’s last name. This isn’t the first time Zahara has omitted “Pitt.” She used Jolie alone during her Alpha Kappa Alpha induction in 2023. Her siblings have made similar moves: Maddox and Shiloh legally removed “Pitt,” and Vivienne appeared as Vivienne Jolie in a Broadway Playbill earlier this year. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt share six children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. Since their parents’ split in 2016, the kids have steadily distanced themselves from their father.
