Garnacho Stays Away From Chelsea’s Pre-Season Amid Transfer Talks

Garnacho Stays Away From Chelsea’s Pre-Season Amid Transfer Talks

Alejandro Garnacho did not join Chelsea’s first-team squad at Cobham for the start of pre-season training as the club actively seeks to sell the 21-year-old winger. Signed from Manchester United for £40m on a seven-year deal, Garnacho scored just one Premier League goal last season and struggled for regular starts. Chelsea value him at around £43m and are holding out for permanent offers, with interest reported from clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia and Serie A’s Roma. This absence forms part of a wider summer overhaul under new manager Xabi Alonso. The Blues have already signed Marco Palestra and Geovany Quenda, sold Marc Cucurella and Tyrique George, and are targeting further defensive reinforcements while exploring additional departures.

Why do you think Chelsea is willing to sell Garnacho despite his young profile and potential?

You're on point, it's strange they'd even consider offloading such a promising teenager.

Selling a 21-year-old winger signed for £40m after just one league goal seems like a hasty decision.

I get the transfer talk, but maybe Garnacho needs more time to settle before rushing a sale.

Chelsea fans should watch how his training return goes before judging any potential sale negotiations.
