Poroye Applauds 15km Milestone on Aboto–Atijere Road Project

Poroye Applauds 15km Milestone on Aboto–Atijere Road Project — 1 of 4
1 / 4

The long-awaited Aboto–Atijere Road in Ondo State is taking shape. OSOPADEC Chairman Olabiyi Poroye has commended the contractor’s rapid pace after 15 of the 28.5 kilometres were completed. Poroye noted that the quality and speed of work reflect the state government’s determination and promised continued support for the contractor. The road is set to enhance connectivity, boost local businesses and ease transportation for residents in oil-producing areas. Project Monitoring Director Engr. Dipo Aluko reported the road is now 50% complete. Stone base work covers 10.7 kilometres and earthworks extend to 14 kilometres, with asphalting underway on four kilometres. An upward budget review aims to accelerate delivery and meet community expectations.

This 15km milestone really shows they're on track, I'm optimistic the rest will meet the deadline.

It's impressive to see over half the road done, yet past projects here often failed to match early progress promises.

All this speed talk is fine, but communities deserve assurance on safety features and proper drainage, not just rapid finish.

Local traders should start planning logistics along the route to take advantage of smoother transport once the road opens completely.
