How ₦45 Billion Allocations Failed to Secure Oriire LGA
Oriire Local Government in Oyo State receives over ₦539 million monthly from the Federal Government. Over seven years, this sums to about ₦45 billion. Yet you won’t find even ₦500 million worth of visible development on the ground. Politicians at both state and local levels have turned local government administration into a sham. There isn’t a single police station or Amotekun post in Oriire. These leaders run fraud under the guise of governance while terrorism rises. I disagree that autonomy has improved since the current administration took office. Poor execution and a lack of accountability keep our communities vulnerable. Governors like Seyi Makinde must answer for these failures, and security agencies must stop shielding the rich while punishing the poor.
