How to Start a Scorpion Farming Business for Venom Extraction
I’ve learned that a liter of scorpion venom can fetch up to $1 million. At my new workplace, there’s a forest behind the building, so I started collecting scorpions with the idea of farming them for their venom. I don’t have the lab equipment to extract venom or identify species. I also lack contacts—local or international—to sell to. I’m considering teaming up with a research lab at a university or a grant-funded institution. What are the most practical steps to: safely house these scorpions, keep them alive, identify species, and connect with reliable buyers? Any advice or contacts would be appreciated. Here are photos of my initial collection.
