New 100-Bed Specialist Hospital in Zaria Boosts Healthcare Access
In a bid to strengthen healthcare delivery in Kaduna State, the federal government has commissioned a 100-bed Renewed Hope Specialist Hospital in Dumbin Rauga, Zaria. This facility is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda and aims to bring quality medical services closer to underserved communities. The hospital boasts modern operating theatres, recovery rooms, private and general wards, advanced diagnostic equipment and a fully equipped laboratory. Key assets include an ultrasound machine, vacuum extractor delivery set and an emergency cart to support safe deliveries and urgent care. At the commissioning, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals described the hospital as a strategic intervention to address critical gaps in maternal and child health. The Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Kaduna State Governor praised the project for its potential to ease pressure on existing facilities and improve overall health outcomes. Officials emphasised that access to quality healthcare is a basic human right and called for sustained investment in medical infrastructure. With this new specialist hospital, residents of Zaria and neighbouring communities can look forward to more accessible, dignified and affordable care.
