Kogi Poly Suspends Seven Lecturers Over Alleged Harassment and Handout Sales
Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has suspended seven lecturers over allegations of sexual harassment and the unauthorised sale of handouts and textbooks to students. Six lecturers were suspended over the alleged sales, while one faces an allegation of sexual harassment. Students also alleged a resurgence of sex-for-marks, extortion, cult-related activities and weak enforcement of campus rules. Some female students claimed they were threatened with failure unless they paid money or provided sexual favours. The Polytechnic’s management said its disciplinary committee is investigating the allegations and will make its findings public. Students and parents have called for transparent action and stronger measures to protect students.
