Promoting Inclusion for Every Child: Ekiti State Celebrates Children’s Day 2026
Ekiti State Government marked the 2026 National Children’s Day at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, reaffirming its dedication to inclusive education, child protection and overall wellbeing. Speaking under the theme “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” the First Lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, highlighted investments in schools, healthcare and youth programmes. She also detailed support for orphans and vulnerable children through her foundation’s welfare initiatives. The Deputy Governor and the Commissioner for Women Affairs reviewed ongoing fee payments, school renovations, teacher recruitment and anti-abuse measures. Outstanding students and competition winners were recognised, with cash awards and scholarships announced for top performers in spelling and national exams. Dignitaries from various ministries and local government areas attended. Creative performances by special needs pupils and cultural displays added colour, while new funds were approved for emerging champions to compete internationally.
