Beyond Four Walls: Understanding the True Church

According to a popular daily devotional, the early Christian community didn’t gather in a single building but met in homes across Rome. Leaders like Priscilla and Aquila hosted fellowships that were fully part of the Church, reminding us that its true nature lies in its people, not bricks and mortar. Scripture tells us that when believers break bread and pray together, Christ is present among them. This house‐to‐house model kept the Church strong through persecution and shows that no structure can hold back God’s work when His people unite in fellowship. Today, wherever Christians gather in Jesus’ name, they embody the living Body of Christ. Each small assembly advances the Kingdom through shared faith, unity, and mutual support. Prayer: Father, thank You for making me part of Your Church. Help me to strengthen others and advance Your Kingdom through active fellowship. Amen.
